Information about Charles Darwin University

Charles Darwin University is unquestionably unique.

Our campuses and delivery locations, which span a diverse footprint from the capital cities of Darwin, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney to regional hubs of Alice Springs, Palmerston, and Katherine, as well as our remote locations in Jabiru, Tennant Creek, and Yulara, embrace the inclusive, resilient, and courageous spirit of the Northern Territory. We do this in community, with the community.

Our multi-campus, dual-sector status, virtual and online expertise, course profile, research activities, delivery methods, and operation are all products of our dedication to the regions in which we operate.

Despite making up roughly one-sixth of Australia’s landmass, the Northern Territory has only 1% of the country’s population, 30% of whom are First Nations Peoples.

We are in a great position to contribute to the future potential for Northern Australia and the Asia Pacific region through innovative and successful training, teaching, and research because of our location.

A new strategic plan for the institution has been put in place, and it will guide its growth over the ensuing five years. It outlines a clear course for us to develop into a bigger, better, and stronger organization while also appreciating and empowering our staff to make a difference.

CDU is a firm believer in the power of education, training, and research to transform lives. To ensure that our training, education, and research are not only of high quality and provided by outstanding educators and researchers, but also accessible and meaningful, we must all work together. Our communities are impacted by the things we do.

In order to serve the needs of the Northern Territory and other regional, rural, and remote people both domestically and internationally, we are a university that is closely connected, working in partnership and collaboration with First Nations peoples, local communities and industries, government, and alumni.

We are committed to contributing significantly to the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of the NT and Northern Australia as well as to the national and international export of our capabilities.
